Hello, my name is Stephanie Dukart. I served as Council Vice-President for 2006-07, and I am serving as your Council President for the 2007-08 school year.

In my experience, the most frequently asked question posed to me as a Council member, is "What does Council do?"

My response to this is, Council is a mini-region all in itself. Vancouver School District has more than half the schools in Region 3. We have 26 schools this year, thanks to the fact that Discovery Middle School have restarted their PTA. Welcome back Discovery. With 26 schools that we provide service to, this leaves the Region 3 Team to provide service to the rest of the schools in the Region. We are your support system. We provide training, education and support for every local unit in the Vancouver School District. We provide communication from the school district to our local units, and as Council, we run the Reflections Program for all of the PTAs and PTSAs for the VSD.

Vancouver is fortunate in that we have a Council that represents our entitiy to the district, but also to really try to make your local unit stronger and more united.

Your PTA representative would like to visit each of your PTA, and, would like to be able to provide service to your local unit in a timely and efficient way.
