Does your Local Unit have a Legislative Chair?

Here are "Basic" Legislative Chair Activities:

  • Sign up with State PTA for Action Alerts at:
  • Forward (email) articles to your PTA's Newsletter editor.
  • Give 2-minute legislative talks at PTA meetings.
(If you can't recruit a Legislative Chair, any unit officer can do these things. Your Legislative Chair helps your parents stay better informed and better connected on important issues affecting them and their children.)

The State PTA provides support, with newsletter articles, short meeting "talk" pieces, an Action Alert system, training, easy access to experienced advocacy advice, and access to your legislators & the Governor.
As Legislative Chair, you contribute to your unit by providing critical public policy information, and helping others contact legislators on timely issues, so they can voice their concerns and opinions about what affects their children... and it's fun!
